What are Calories
Introduction:
Hi guys Do you really
know about the calories and do you want to know about why calories are so
important for human health and how it works today I am going to share with you
the personal tips and tricks which I have used personal experience on my grandmother.
Calorie vs
calorie:
A large number of people have a misconception about the
calorie, have you ever seen the ingredient list of any product they mostly
mention the Calorie with capital “C” Do you know what is that? Basically, they are defining the kilocalorie.
Now maybe some of you have a question about kilocalorie.
Here is the
difference,
A kilocalorie is derived from the amount of heat
that is necessary to raise the temperature of 1 kilogram of water by 1 degree
Celsius. Although the packages of food in the United States have
"calories" written on their ingredients labels, they are actually
referring to the larger unit of kilocalorie.
What are calories?
Define in the simple term then we can say that calories are
the unit of energy and we intake calories in two ways eating and drinking. When
you do the physical activity then your body burns calories to fuel your activity.
Here is the difference have you ever seen the “Calorie” or “calorie”?
The calorie with the capital “C” refers to as the kilocalorie and the small “c”
is referred to as a calorie. A kilocalorie is derived from the
amount of heat that is necessary to raise the temperature of 1 kilogram of
water by 1 degree Celsius. Although the packages of food in the United States
have "calories" written on their ingredients labels, they are
actually referring to the larger unit of kilocalorie.
Now the question
arises here that does calories really matters?
Joule Confusion:
Now some of you may have a question/confusion about the
joule. With this said, we must now introduce another source of confusion. We
live in the United States. Practically everywhere else in the world people use
the metric system and follow the metric-based international system of unit. In
this system food energy expressed in joules or in their thousand fold-larger
counterpart, Kilojoules. We give the conversation factor in table. (1) These term also are used imprecisely and
we hear people talking about joules when they really about the kilojoules.
The easiest way to think
in the conversation is to remember that 1 calorie is equal to 4.2 joules we can
say that 100 calories are equal to 420 joules. If you only want estimate you
can multiply the calories to 4.2 to get the result.
Now we move on the question about how calories work in the
body
How calories work
in the body :
The basic idea about how heat/calories work in food and in the body are quiet straightforward.
(1)
Calories are unit of energy
(2)
Energy is the capacity of do work.
(3)
Work can be chemical (biochemical, in this case)
as well as can be a physical.
(4)
Biochemical reactions and muscles activity
produce heat
(5)
Heat can be measure calories.
You can think that food provide
energy to body to do work: breath, circulation of blood, transmit nerve
impulses and much more. The calories in a food are measured through the heat it
produces when burned. This lead to one other source of potential source of
confusion--- the difference between energy, heat, calories. Energy define as
the capacity to do work, exist in different forms: heat energy, electric energy , mechanical energy, chemical
energy. In physical, the first law of thermodynamics states that these various
form of energy are completely interchangeable. Any form of energy can be
converted to any other form. The steam engine is the obvious example: it uses
the heat generated by burning fuel to produce steam that create mechanical
work.
Bodies
are interconvert forms of energy. The chemical structure of contain food
molecules protein, fats, and carbohydrate store energy. Metabolism transform
the chemical energy to from food component to heat energy through the series of
biochemical reaction that involve the oxygen you breath. These are called
oxidation reaction.
Now take a quick look at
metabolism work after that we will go to learn about the calories burning
procedure.
Metabolism:
Introduction of metabolism:
You have probably hear the term metabolism. You have seen most of the nutrition talking about to boost your metabolism because it can help you to lose your weight in very little time people have many misconception/confusion about the metabolism. I will try to cover all the types of misconception/confusion that I found. If metabolism doesn’t exist in the human body then it is impossible for the human to survive. Your metabolism is just not a vehicle to blame for a weight lose. It is a machine that impact your energy, stress level, sleeping habit and also for your long-term health. Every cell in human body is involved in a process associated with your metabolic rate.
Role of metabolism in life:
On the most basic level
metabolism is the process by which your body covert the food and water you
consume every day in the energy for immediate use and store for the future use.
Every action you perform while you are at bathroom, or changing your dress or
even having a lunch or dinner required energy.
Remember: Mostly people don’t know where the energy of your
body is utilizing. Your muscles are not the only organ who use energy. Your
lungs, heart, and brain all required the energy generated in your metabolism.
How to burn calories:
In the market there are thousands of machines and equipment available
to burn calories but I am going to tell you about the 2 specific term that will
help you to burn more calories as much as you want
(1) Exercise Daily:
This the first and proven method to burn calories and many experts suggest to do at-least 2 hour exercise daily. It can be an aerobic exercise, running, cycling, go to gym, or any other physical activity because when you do exercise your body calories to fuel your activity. This is the first and most important step to burn calories.
(2) Eat protein food:
The second and the most important thing after doing exercise eat protein food which will help you to keep maintain the needs of calories in your body. These food also have calories but in much less quantity. Like egg
Conclusion: I have provided all the detail related to
calories to make your understand what are calories and what are the role of
calories in human body and how to burn them easily without any pills and
medicine. And I have tried to cover all the question and confusion people have
in their mind. If you have any question regarding this topic then comment or
email me I will try to remove all of your confusion regarding this topic.
